Azerbaijan's EITI Experience

Special Session at the 14th International Caspian Oil & Gas Conference in Baku, Azerbaijan, June 7, 2007

A session on the EITI was held on 7 June during the 14th International Caspian Oil & Gas Conference in Baku, Azerbaijan. The session highlighted the Azerbaijani EITI experience and promoting the EITI regionally. Speakers included Natiq Aliyev, Azerbaijani Minister of Industry and Energy, Anita Utseth, Norwegian Deputy Minister of Petroleum and Energy, Shahmar Movsumov, Chairman of the Azerbaijani EITI Committee and Executive Director in State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) and Jonas Moberg, head of the EITI secretariat.

The seminar was organised jointly by The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Baku, British Petroleum and Statoil and was open to all interested participants.
